Could queering and transing as a dynamic interweaving of power and desire become something that advances trans*ecologies and fosters anti-fascist movements in favor of queer embodiments and planetary cohabitation? How do we imagine trans*ecological relations where queer, trans*, inter*, and nonbinary lives and ways of existence flourish?

What practices can we develop to strengthen queer ways of life in authoritarian times and in the face of overt fascist tendencies? Today, it is no longer enough to view queer theory and politics as inherently anti-fascist. We must ask specific questions about how right-wing movements approach gender and sexuality—what is repressive, authoritarian, or perhaps even fascist about their approaches—but also how these movements make seductive offers, inhabit emancipatory spaces, hack libaratory discourses or imagary. How can we counter this without reacting defensively or antagonistically?
Furthermore, how can we take seriously the fact that liberal and bourgeois ways of thinking and images of nature, humanity, society, and property are themselves associated with exploitation, oppression, and violence? How can we counter these images with transecological ideas?
Over the course of a day, we’ll explore these questions in various ways through a workshop, a panel, and a discussion: through subversive work with music, through a connection to local struggles in Kolkata, India, and through a joint discussion on the initiative “No Gender Entry at Birth.”

Queering the text. Trans*ecology in choir music (in German)
Classical choral music is rife with patriarchal notions of nature. In this workshop, we’ll listen to, write, and sing Romantic choral music in a subversive way. We’ll rewrite lyrics with transecological ideas and become a queer choir!

Anticipating Trans-Queer Life Anticipating Trans-Queer Life in Times of far-right Surge
in Bengal and beyond
How should the Trans-Queer people of Bengal respond to the Hindu-Nationalist regime in power in Bengal since May 2026? This panel discussion will dive into the past of the body-politics of Trans-Queer community in Bengal, to anticipate a new future while highlighting the difficulties faced by the queer communities and especially by the Bengali Muslim queer individuals. The Panel will also question any residue of essentialism, which might obstruct the building of queer-subjectivity in the progressive clique.

No Sex Entry at Birth
What, if every child would start into the world without a sex entry in the birth certificate?
What, if every child had the chance to get to know their bodies and develop their sexual, gendered, and ambodied self-understanding freely and without time-pressure?
With our campaign, ‘No sex entry at birth’, we aim to initiate a global discussion about the legal regulation of sex, and the ways in which we can foster sexual and gender self-determination. As adults who remember the difficult experience of growing up as boys or girls and being expected to fit into a rigid binary, we demand a change in regulations. We believe that if we want to protect children, we must give them time to develop their own understanding of their bodies and social gender.
On July 19, 2026 (5-7pm) there is a chance to discuss this initiative (in German). There will also be a guest contribution by Rafael Baioni (in English) about according activities in Brazil.
