Curated by Fer Nogueira, diasszz and ísis bravo, assistent: Giovanna Fernandez
Arts Department at the Federal University of Paraná, Brasilien.
4 March – 24 March, 2026: DeArtes UFPR Gallery, Curitiba/PR.
An online-presentation of the project took place on 30 March during Conceptual Activism.

The exhibition “Desbatismos” (Debaptisms) presents art works and performances which are the result of “Studies in Visual Poetics”, including research, theoretical and conceptual discussions of multiple feminisms and queer theory that explore the countless possibilities surrounding the concepts of race, gender, class, activism, historicity, dissident cartographies, and neuroatypicality and their alliances with visual poetic experiences. The discussions created a space for coexistence, “confluences” (Nêgo Bispo), debates, testimonials, and deviant visual production, which lead to artistic proposals in multiple visual languages: photography, performance, sculpture, drawing, painting, graphic and structural intervention in the exhibition space, video, and other materialities from the expanded field of the arts.
Taking immersion, perception, and transversality of theoretical repertoire and experiences in artistic works as a starting point, curatorial practice revolves around the question of what queer curatorship is or could be. This exercise seeks to create a space that escapes the homogeneity of thoughts and experiences in order to create connections between the past, present, and a dwelling, even if virtual, for a future in which gender-sexual, neuroatypical/typical, and ethnic/racial multiplicities can continue their transformations and care for their bodies and existences, experiences, and critical pluriversal flows in bio-sociodiverse conceptualizations. Together, artistic productions open up universes, or rather, deviant pluriverses, and simultaneously transform artistic, academic as well as quotidian environments and cohabitations.
The following activations support the debate and inspire practices:
